It should really come as no surprise that Leguizamo understands the assignment.
He’s been doing the homework for years.
I look forward to seeing who else raises their hand and says, “send me.” Not because they want the assignment, but because they understand the obligation.
Billionaires are not only welcomed, but are required to join us as well. Or is being an oligarch requirement to being a billionaire? Harvard?
I have read this a couple of times. John legitimizes the hash tag that our politicians are not leaders. They can’t think outside of a broken box because they are slaves to our political industrial complex. Outliers like Sanders and AOC aside.
My only recommended correction is to quit using the word party. It’s a trifle and trite word…a sad punchline…disingenuous if not dishonest…kin to using the word tariff when we all know the fucking word is pronounced T-A-X paid by proletariats. History tells us that our founding fathers always saw political parties as a major hazard for our democracy. They were more than 3/5ths right, were they not?
We also need to start being more opened about bloodshed…more proletariat’s than oligarch’s.
This is what comedian Jon Stewart meant when he said pack a lunch…
What do the US Armed Forces have to say about everything that is going on? Don’t they also have the responsibility to uphold Democracy domestically? Since the US Congress and Supreme Court is incompetent. Our best hope of saving Democracy now is to have US Armed Forces on the resistance side, otherwise remember the wealthy have their private armies too
A beginning LAUNDRY LIST (if someone wants to start recording just some of the offenses):
the number of times EM accessed data without proper clearances or Senate confirmation, the number of times GOP members of Congress sat still on their hands after letting an Executive Order go unquestioned and allowed it to be implemented, nonetheless, without Congressional approval, the number of every single federal employee who was wrongfully terminated for "supposed" sub-standard performance AND backpack given, the number of times Hegseth and crew leaked highly-sensitive, and/or classified, military plans and relays to non- essential military personnel, the number of times the President overstepped his powers and into the realm of Congressional powers as well as into the realm of Judicial authority, riding roughshod over our Constitution, the number of times he broke immigration laws (putting legal residents into shackles and sending them out of the country without due process and paying mightily for them to be retained there, indefinitely, and refusing to even ask that one of them be returned to the U.S. for due process, revoking legal visas of students, all the times he violated a person's free speech AND had them investigated for free speech, the number of times he violated the U.S. agreements with NATO, the EU and the United Nations, the number of times he turned his back on sovereign democratic nations and instead aligned with dictatorial and communist regimes, the number of Jan 6 offenders he pardoned back onto the streets, the number of times he has misled the people with lies, and fear-mongering, the number of conflicts of interest he allowed EM to have while working at DOGE (a legal cabinet or not?), the number of people whose lives were likely lost by depriving the distribution of shipments of medicine already in Africa becausehe allowed EM to shut down USAID, the number of foreign allies and trading partners he lost, abroad and next door to us, the number of dollars people lost in their bank accounts and 401(k)s from his experimental tariff games and so much more, the number of dollars he's cost the taxpayers on golfing every weekend, the number of times he withheld the press from equal access to him and/or briefings, the number of times he lied and offended or did harm without being accountable, the number of times each GOP member of Congress confirmed such clearly ill-equipped cabinet nominees, the number of times they dodged their constituents at town hall meetings, and so much more!
I saw a post that Liz Cheney wrote a letter to democratic leaders. This sounds verbatim. I don’t care who says it, been thinking we need a shadow government to combat this for awhile. All the high command military, intelligence community and cyber security people, scientists, law enforcement, etc. have been kicked out of this administration, we need them to join this movement. We will have experts, they have Fox News hosts and rich white guys who wrote a script. We have the script, we know what they plan. But did they plan for an offensive from people who know what they are doing? How do we find the people that can lead this and we can support them with our own talents? That is what us regular folks need to know! Protests are great, actions by experts with connections that can lead this and that we can support to make it huge is better. Where do we start? Tell me that! I see a few dem leaders starting, but this is more than political, this is literally our lives and control of our destiny, not to mention our health and well-being! Our food safety, our public lands, our workers, our education! We need leaders who are experts and not looking for the next election. Who will that be?
And obtain archives or copies of everything this regime is banning, abolishing, or whitewashing, because of "DEI". From federal records, communications, displays, events, wording at monuments and national parks, and health and safety information being purged at HHS and elsewhere. Making a plan by a coordinating committee to abolish in the future all of Project 2025's agenda, and EO's from the fpotus, is a must. Public hearings and goading media to pay attention to resistance toward shedding the constitution by this regime is also a must. All of the ideas in this essay are practical, commonsense, measures to fix the wrongs of this outlaw regime. We must do it.
I came across this article and there’s so much I can say and I’ve been saying it for a while trying to wake people up. It’s kinda hard. I don’t know. It’s almost like that old saying can’t teach an old dog new tricks it’s hard but this article is two president too late Get it.
If an authoritarian dictator gained control of both the presidency and both houses of Congress in the United States, the minority party would have limited but potentially important options for engaging with the ICC:
### Informal Engagement Options
The minority party could engage with the ICC through several unofficial channels:
1. Information sharing - Party members could provide information to the ICC about potential crimes within the court's jurisdiction, though they would need to be careful about legal restrictions under U.S. law.
2. Public advocacy - They could publicly support ICC actions and investigations, helping to legitimize the court's work even without formal U.S. participation.
3. NGO partnerships - Working with human rights organizations that regularly engage with the ICC could provide an indirect channel for communication and support.
4. Diaspora networks - Engaging with international supporters and diaspora communities could help maintain pressure for accountability.
### Limited Formal Options
The formal options would be severely constrained:
1. State-level action - Individual states led by minority party officials could potentially establish memoranda of understanding with the ICC on specific matters, though this would likely face federal legal challenges.
2. Congressional resolutions - Even as a minority, they could introduce symbolic resolutions supporting ICC principles, though passage would be unlikely.
3. Legal challenges - They could mount court challenges to executive actions that violate international norms, potentially referencing ICC standards.
### Significant Limitations
It's important to note that these efforts would face serious hurdles:
- An authoritarian government would likely intensify anti-ICC legislation and enforcement.
- The American Service-Members' Protection Act already prohibits cooperation with the ICC.
- U.S. officials cooperating with the ICC against the government's will could face legal consequences.
- The ICC lacks enforcement power and relies on state cooperation, which would be withheld by the authoritarian government.
The most realistic approach would involve building international coalitions to maintain pressure while working through non-governmental channels to document potential violations for future accountability.
UPDATE: The original letter (see https://ghostarchive.org/archive/3HLwu) was by Dr. Pru Lee on Facebook. It was later echoed by Liz Cheney (and sometimes misattributed to her). Presumably this is where John Leguizamo got it from, and I think he shared it on Instagram, which then got to my TikTok feed. So — it’s spreading… )

Wow.
YES, John Leguizamo! That's conviction! 🇺🇲💪🏼❤️

All participants should be ashamed of themselves!
Someone take this and run with it, please!

A flabby, venal, cowardly and ineffective DNC won’t be doing any of this. (Congressional Democrats will be checking their stock portfolios, though!)
Don’t you see? This is the natural endpoint of “democratic” capitalism.
We’re basically fucked over.
We cannot be cynical, waste of time. We have to try and try until we fix this.
